DIY Hand Sanitizer
Keep your hands clean when you are on the go with this cleansing DIY hand sanitizer spray gel that is super easy to make at home for everyone to enjoy.
Flu season is not fun and none of us wants to catch the flu or any other viruses. This is why it is crucial to make sure to wash your hands with soap and water – or, if that is not possible, use hand gel. Keep your home, your desk or work station, your seat on the train or plane clean by bringing your wipes and disinfectant sprays to wipe the surfaces. When you are out, I strongly recommend that you avoid touching anything you don’t need to touch.
Be mindful of what you come into contact with – such as door handles and poles in the bus, metro or train – and if you cannot wash your hands or use your sanitizer, do not touch your face.
We love having essential oils on hand for these quick DIY natural cleansers and products at home, we especially love using them in our diffusers. This recipe calls for 3 of our favourite essential oils. It is excellent for those times when soap and water aren’t available, and your hands need to be washed.
I love to keep this homemade hand sanitizer and a small bottle of soap in my purse because of my allergies to products with artificial fragrances. Make sure to shake your bottle well before using and to make sure that your ingredients are mixed well. Prevent your hands from becoming dry and cracking by moisturizing after washing your hands and using sanitizer.
The key is to make sure that you use the right ratio of each ingredient. The CDC Control recommends we use hand sanitizers that contain a minimum of 60% alcohol, this is the percentage used in most store-bought hand sanitizers. Trying to replicate this on your own can be tricky, Dr. Sally Bloomfield, with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, shared with the Guardian. This is why we want you to make sure that you follow the recipe below, if you do add more alcohol than the recipe asks for, please make sure that you shake sanitizer well before use and moisturize after using any sanitizer, we don’t want your hands to get dry or crack!
